- Within 12 months :
The claim must be submitted within a 12 month period.
- 3 year extension :
If a claim is lodged within 3 years and there are good reasons for the postponement, the TAC may take it into consideration even if it was submitted beyond the 12 month restriction
- Common law claim :
A common law lump sum must be filed within 6 years. The claimant may forfeit the right to file the suit if a writ is not issued prior to the expiration date.
